Behavioral Health Talent Academy

In 2024, CCC launched the Behavioral Health Talent Academy (BHTA) to attract and develop talent to meet the growing demand for mental health and substance use disorder services.

The BHTA is a training program for CCC employees, focusing on behavioral health career development. It provides employees with the opportunity to obtain the following certifications:

Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC 1) maroon arrow pointing right

CADC 1 Training

  • 14-month training
  • CCC Employees will transfer from their current role into a 14-month, full-time paid temporary role as a “CADC-R Trainee”
  • CADC-R Trainee role will provide MHACBO required supervision and education

Eligibility:

  • CCC employee for at least 90 days
  • Must not hold a CADC-I or higher certification
  • Ability to pass a DHS background check
  • Minimum requirement: GED or equivalent

Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA 1) maroon arrow pointing right

QMHA 1 Training

  • 14-month training program
  • CCC employees stay in their current role
  • 2-8 hours of weekly supervision and CCC Work Ready Training for 14-month duration

Eligibility:

  • CCC employee for at least 90 days
  • Must not already hold a QMHA-I certification
  • At least 2 years of behavioral/mental health work experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Currently employed in a full-time position that qualifies for QMHA supervision hours (e.g., most client-facing roles)

Peer Support Specialist trainings and certifications; Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) and Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) maroon arrow pointing right

Peer Training (CRM and PWS)

  • 4-month training
  • CCC employees stay in their current role
  • 2 full weeks of training through MHAAO to receive CRM and PWS certification
  • 2-8 hours of weekly supervision and CCC Work Ready Training for the rest of the 4-month duration

Eligibility:

  • CCC Employee for at least 90 days
  • Must not currently hold a Peer certification (CRM, PSS, PWS)
  • Ability to pass a regular background check
  • Minimum requirement: GED or equivalent
