The Employment Access Center (EAC) is a one-stop resource for job seekers on the path to meaningful employment. Our dedicated team creates a welcoming environment, working seamlessly to support clients referred to us in their job search. Through personalized guidance and skill-building, the EAC removes barriers to employment, helping individuals gain confidence, self-worth, and independence to achieve long-term success.

In 2024, the Employment Access Center served 1,544 individuals, with 551 securing employment through the center.

Program Information

Services

  • Assessment of skills, work history, and employment barriers
  • Career planning and goal development
  • Job search support, including resume, cover letter, and interview preparation
  • Navigation of training programs, educational resources, and work readiness workshops
  • Job application, placement, and retention support for roles within CCC and in key local industries (health care, construction, manufacturing, and the green sector)
  • Assistance with ongoing employment-related support services

What to Expect

The path to employment through the EAC varies for each individual, but here’s what you can generally expect:

  • Referral: Meet with your case manager to receive a referral to the EAC.
  • Orientation: Attend an orientation to learn about the services available to you.
  • Meet Your Employment Specialist: After orientation, your employment specialist will schedule an intake appointment with you.
  • Career Mapping and Planning: Identify long-term and short-term career goals and develop a step-by-step plan, including any necessary training, skill-building, or certifications.
  • Resume and Cover Letter Assistance: Get help crafting resumes and cover letters tailored to your target jobs.
    Interview Preparation: Receive tips, strategies, and mock interview practice to help you feel confident and prepared.
  • Job Search Support: Your employment specialist can connect you with job leads and coordinate meetings with potential employers.

Once you secure a job, your employment specialist will continue to support you as you transition into your new role.

How to Get Started

If you’re already a CCC client, ask your case manager or other CCC program staff to refer you for one-on-one employment services. After your referral, you’ll attend an orientation and then can start using resources at the EAC.

Additional Workshops and Services

In addition to the tailored support individuals receive from their Employment Specialist, the EAC also offers a variety of additional workshops and services!

Clients can register for WorkSource, participate in resume and interview workshops and take advantage of a variety of additional employment and training related services.

Basic Computer Skills Class maroon arrow pointing right

Discover the essentials of computer use, including basic software, internet navigation, and troubleshooting skills in this beginner-friendly class. Held monthly at the WorkSource Express Center, sign up by speaking with your Employment Specialist.

Career Mapping maroon arrow pointing right

Career Mapping sessions are held in-person on a monthly basis in the WorkSource Express Room. Your Employment Specialist can either sign you up for a class or provide this service one-on-one, depending on your preference.

Every Wednesday from 10 – 11 am, employers are invited to give presentations about their companies, the positions they are hiring for, the benefits they offer, and any qualifications or barriers associated with the roles. Coffee and snacks are provided for attendees!
