The Project-Based Section 8 SRO waiting list is open as of Wednesday, May 25th, 2022 at 8:00am PDT.  The list will close once 100 pre-apps have been accepted.  Pre-applications for fair market (non-subsidized) units taken on continual basis.

The Hotel Alder is a five-story historic apartment building consisting of 99 single-room occupancy units located in the heart of downtown Portland. The Hotel Alder is an alcohol- and drug-free community. All units are income and rent restricted, with some project-based Section 8 rent subsidized units available.

You have two options for submitting your pre-application materials:

  • Email. Send your completed and signed pre-application materials to IPL@ccconcern.org.
  • In-person. Bring your completed and signed pre-application materials to the CCC Housing Office at 523 NW Everett St., Portland OR, 97209. Application intake will be held outside, following physical distancing protocols.

Note: Due to the ongoing pandemic, we strongly encourage applicants to submit pre-application forms by email. CCC will not accept applications submitted directly at the Hotel Alder.

  • Email. Send your completed and signed pre-application materials to cccsec8wait@ccconcern.org.
  • In person. Bring your completed and signed pre-application materials to the CCC Housing Office at 523 NW Everett St., Portland, OR 97209. Pre-application intake will be held outside, following physical distancing protocols.
  • Pre-applicants may receive a preference points if able to have a self-sufficiency program complete a Self-Sufficiency Referral Form.

  • Pets are not allowed at the Hotel Alder.  Applicants/Tenants may request service or assistance animals as a reasonable accommodation when necessary to support a verified disability. All requests are subject to management approval.

Eligibility and screening

  • A security deposit is not required at the Hotel Alder.
  • The building is a mixture of ADFC (alcohol- and drug-free community) and non-ADFC units.

Units at the Hotel Alder are income and rent restricted based on a percentage of Median Family Income (%MFI) for Multnomah County. Households must earn annual income below the corresponding %MFI to be eligible for the unit. Click here for information to help you determine the maximum income limit.
