The fair market and project-based Section 8 waiting lists for the Butte are open.

The Butte is a three-story apartment building located in the Old Town neighborhood of downtown Portland. Most units are single-room occupancy with Section 8 rental assistance (tenants pay a portion of rent) and shared bathroom facilities.  There is one studio unit without rent assistance.

You have two options for submitting your fair market pre-application materials:

  • Email. Send your completed and signed pre-application materials to IPL@ccconcern.org.
  • In-person. Bring your completed and signed pre-application materials to the CCC Housing Office at 523 NW Everett St., Portland OR, 97209. Application intake will be held outside, following physical distancing protocols. 

Note: Due to the ongoing pandemic, we strongly encourage applicants to submit pre-application forms by email. CCC will not accept faxed applications or those submitted directly at the Butte.

You have two options for submitting your Section 8 pre-application materials:

  • Email. Send your completed and signed pre-application materials to cccsec8wait@ccconcern.org
  • In-person. Bring your completed and signed pre-application materials to the CCC Housing Office at 523 NW Everett St., Portland OR, 97209. Application intake will be held outside, following physical distancing protocols.
  • The optional Butte Preference Referral Form is for applicants that referred by partner agencies providing eligible services.  Eligible services are related to self-sufficiency, housing stability and similar issues.  The form must be completed and signed by the program.  When accepted, the form grants preference on the waiting list.

Eligibility and screening

  • A security deposit is not required at the Butte.
  • For more information on screening requirements, refer to the Butte Tenant Selection Plan and Building Criteria.

Units at the Butte are income and rent restricted based on a percentage of Median Family Income (%MFI) for Multnomah County. Households must earn annual income below the corresponding %MFI to be eligible for the unit. Click here for information to help you determine the maximum income limit.
