CCC is committed to a healthy and climate-safe future for all clients and staff. Since formalizing our organizational commitment to climate action, we have focused on transforming our facilities, fleet, fuels, and resiliency framework to align with our 2023 – 2026 Strategic Plan. Through these efforts, CCC is lowering utility costs for residents, advancing clean energy policy, expanding access to zero-emission transportation, and ensuring that the benefits of renewable energy and clean technology reach those who need them most.
Fleet Electrification at CCC
With help from the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF) and other funders, CCC has made great strides toward its fleet electrification goals. Here’s what we’ve accomplished:
Madrona Clean Fleet Depot
CCC’s first electric-ready “Clean Fleet Depot” launched at Madrona Studios in 2026, housing 26 Level 2 EV charging stations capable of supporting up to 56 electric vehicles representing CCC’s first step to accelerate the adoption of a fully electric fleet. The project is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 46,000 lbs. per year and was made possible by funding from PCEF’s Community Grant program, with additional funding from Pacific Power and ODOT.
PCEF Electric Fleet Vehicles
CCC purchased seven new electric vehicles to replace internal combustion engine vehicles in CCC’s fleet, including three Ford F-150s, three Nissan LEAFs and one Volkswagen ID Buzz made possible by funding from PCEF’s Community Grant funding. We are reducing greenhouse gas emissions and saving money on gas and maintenance costs.
GoForth Carshare Program
This program, run by Forth Mobility, subsidizes clean mobility for low-income communities. It helps improve transportation access for CCC residents and staff at Cedar Commons, Meridian Gardens, and Crescent Court by providing access to an affordable, on-site electric carshare vehicle.
Clean Start’s Electrified Fleet
CCC’s Clean Start program is investing in an electrified fleet to better serve our community and reduce environmental impact. This includes a range of vehicles, such as an EV truck funded by PCEF, as well as an electric vehicle and electric tricycles.
PGE Funded EV Chargers
Funded by the PGE Drive Change Fund, CCC has installed three Level 2 EV charging stations at Cedar Commons and eight more at Meridian Gardens, helping reduce barriers to EV ownership by providing residents with convenient, reliable access to at-home charging.
Forth CBO Carshare
This program supports EV adoption through a staff carshare, offering CCC staff one-year access to an EV through Forth Mobility’s EV lending library.
Showing Off Our Electric Rides
As part of the City of Portland’s Earth Day event, PCEF hosted an EV tailgate to kick off their new E-Bike Rebate Program, and CCC was invited to showcase a portion of our electrified fleet!
Mayor Wilson joined to celebrate the progress being made toward the city’s Climate Emergency Workplan goals, in which PCEF plays a key role. Staff from our Climate Action, Clean Start, and Fleet teams also had a fantastic time connecting with attendees and sharing more about CCC’s climate action work and fleet electrification.
