At The Standard, caring for people is a core value practiced every day in communities across the country where the company’s more than 5,200 employees live and work. Since 1994, The Standard has supported Central City Concern through employee giving, matching funds and event sponsorship. In recent years, The Standard has contributed more than $600,000 for the critical programs CCC provides for clients in our community.
The Standard employee giving program stands out among our partners as the company offers a double match of every employee donation made to eligible schools and nonprofits. In addition, the company sponsors a unique program — the Employee Giving Community Fund — that makes a huge difference for participating organizations. CCC was honored to be one of six organizations selected in 2019 and again in 2024 for the EGCF program, which pools employee donations and the company double match to provide large, transformative grants that benefit select nonprofit partners focused on some of the issues that matter most in our communities. In 2019, employee donations and the company match totaled more than $300,000 for CCC’s Blackburn Center. In 2024, CCC received a contribution of more than $84,000 through the EGCF program.
Dan McMillan, President and CEO of The Standard, was one of the speakers at the celebration event to launch CCC’s Mobile Health program on April 16, 2024. In his remarks, he praised CCC for effectively addressing homelessness. “The work Central City Concern is doing is critical to our city’s recovery,” Dan said. “The Standard supports Central City Concern because of the organization’s holistic approach to solving homelessness. CCC helps clients overcome barriers to affordable housing, health care, living-wage jobs, mental wellness and substance abuse treatment.
