Made in Portland, Oregon, our bed bug resistant mattress is constructed with three different zones to provide superior pressure point relief in the center of the mattress where weight is typically centered. Mattress has a 5″ foam core that consists of the head zone made with foam that is 1.8lb 24 ILD, the middle torso zone with foam that is 2lb 30 ILD and the lower foot zone that is 1.8lb 24 ILD. (ILD stands for Indentation Load Deflection. It is a measurement of how hard or soft a foam; a higher rating indicates a firmer foam.)
For additional comfort, the mattress includes a 1″ outer layer of convoluted foam. The mattress is covered in a blue, medical-grade nylon fabric that is internally seamed on three sides and ultrasonically seamed at the foot end. The mattress has no piping, quilt stitching or zippers – common hiding places for bed bugs. Its medical grade nylon fabric cover is body fluid proof, resists staining and puncture and cleans up easily. Mattress is certified to meet Federal Flammability Standard 16 CRF Part 1633. No box spring needed.
