CCC Announces New CEO and President

Thứ Năm, Tháng Sáu 2, 2022

CCC is pleased to announce its new President and CEO, Andrew Mendenhall, M.D. Dr. Mendenhall will assume his new duties on July 1.

Andy joined CCC in 2017 as Senior Medical Director for Substance Use Disorder Services (SUDS) and became Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in 2018. During his tenure, Andy has elevated and diversified CCC’s service level to offer a broad array of evidence-based treatments to match client needs. As CMO, Andy brought oversight and responsibility for the agency’s medical and clinical services, provided leadership to staff, helped set the agency’s strategic direction, promoted ethical and quality care and led CCC through the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We know Portland is facing one of the most critical issues in our region, homelessness,” says Isaac Dixon, chair of CCC’s board of directors. “Andy is the perfect choice to continue to provide the evidence-based solutions we know work. He brings a mix of strategic and compassionate leadership combined with proven strategies. We’re thrilled he’ll be at the helm.”

Andy is Board Certified in Addiction Medicine and Family Medicine. He graduated from the University of Portland and trained as a medical student and family physician at OHSU. He worked at Providence Health Systems. In 2010 he co-founded an outpatient integrated treatment program called HealthWorks NW which was acquired by Hazelden Betty Ford in 2012. Prior to working for CCC, he worked for CleanSlate Treatment Centers in response to the nation’s growing opioid use disorder epidemic. Andy has brought regional and national-scope system transformation to the benefit of patients and clients who are impacted by substance use disorders and mental health conditions.

CCC engaged a Portland based, national search firm, Talence Group, and completed a rigorous search, prioritizing equity and inclusion. Through this process, CCC interviewed a diverse pool of candidates. With his lived experience combined with his experience in mission focused work, Andy proved the best fit for CCC.

“I’m so proud of the work CCC does every day,” says Dr. Mendenhall. “All of those who’ve come before me have laid the groundwork for CCC to answer the call our community is clearly articulating – help our neighbors in need using kindness, care and science. I couldn’t be more honored and excited to be leading an organization with the depth and breadth of experience like CCC.”

Sean Hubert, Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer will remain as interim CEO and President through June 30.
